Mystery Image In Daniel 2-Our Planet's Future Explained! Daniel & Revelation-Part 3

So much for a short post! LOL
This info was shared by Ivor Myers, and I am sharing it with you:-)
A principle to remember when studying the book of Daniel is: Nothing new, only more detail.
The entire book of Daniel works on this principle. The first prophecy in the book of Daniel is in chapter 2. After that, in the book of Daniel, the same principle is nothing new, only more detail.
If you understand Daniel chapter 2, you have the key to understand every other chapter of Daniel! It's like taking a photo, and then zooming in on your next shot, zooming in on the shot after that, and so on. The book of Revelation is the same way. If you have a broad understanding of the first chapter, every chapter after that is only more detail.
Daniel 2 answers for us the question, what does the future hold for planet earth? In Daniel 2 God is showing that the psychics, astrologers and magicians are counterfeits of God's prophets. God is showing the difference between what is false and what is true.
Daniel had learned that king Nebuchadnezzar had ordered all of the wise men, including he and his three friends, to be executed quickly! When Daniel found out, he said, "give me one night and I'll inquire of God and give you the answer tomorrow.
Isaiah 41:22,23 says, "Let them bring forth and show us what will happen;
Let them show the former things, what they were,
That we may consider them,
And know the latter end of them;
Or declare to us things to come.
23 Show the things that are to come hereafter,
That we may know that you are gods;
Yes, do good or do evil,
That we may be dismayed and see it together."
God's challenge to all the other gods is, "Call your gods and if your gods are real, let them accurately tell the future. If they can't they're not really gods. God is NOT accepting of any other gods. There is no other true God!!!
God days, "If your psychics are real, let them tell what's coming in the future." A psychic might say, "the world's going to end or there will be doom." Those are very broad statements. Anyone can guess that. With the Daniel 2 prophecy we are studying, you will know for sure it's not guessing, but certain!
Daniel 2:29 says, "As for you, O king, thoughts came to your mind while on your bed, about what would come to pass after this; and He who reveals secrets has made known to you what will be." God revealed to Nebuchadnezzar, through Daniel, what Nebuchadnezzar had been thinking that night before he went to sleep. In fact, God had put that question about the future in the king's mind.
Daniel 2:30-35 says, "But as for me, this secret has not been revealed to me because I have more wisdom than anyone living, but for our sakes who make known the interpretation to the king, and that you may know the thoughts of your heart."
“You, O king, were watching; and behold, a great image! This great image, whose splendor was excellent, stood before you; and its form was awesome. This image’s head was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs[a] of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. You watched while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; the wind carried them away so that no trace of them was found. And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth." Nebuchadnezzar had to have been spell bound as he heard Daniel tell him exactly what he had dreamed! He had to have said, "That's it! That's what I saw!"
Daniel 2:36-38 says, "This is the dream. Now we will tell the interpretation of it before the king. You, O king, are a king of kings. For the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, strength, and glory; and wherever the children of men dwell, or the beasts of the field and the birds of the heaven, He has given them into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all—you are this head of gold." Now God interprets the dream through Daniel. Daniel tells Nebuchadnezzar his kingdom, Babylon, was the head of gold. Babylon was the superpower of that time, and was well known for it's gold!
Daniel 2:39 says, "But after you shall arise another kingdom inferior to yours; then another, a third kingdom of bronze, which shall rule over all the earth." Daniel could have been beheaded for telling the king that his kingdom, ancient Babylon, would not reign forever! You don't tell a king that another smaller kingdom is going to rise up on the scene and take your kingdom! It would be like saying Iraq was going to overthrow the United States of America! No way! Not in a million years!
So, Daniel was saying there would be four kingdoms that would rule the earth. Daniel 2:41 says, "Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay."
Daniel said the fourth kingdom would divide into 10 kingdoms.
Babylon ruled from 605-539 BC. Babylon was overthrown by a smaller kingdom in 539BC. Early in Nebuchadnezzar's reign, Daniel prophesied this. What are the odds that a superpower would fall to a small kingdom? Pretty slim, right? This prophecy would have to be something supernatural! Some may say, well, Daniel lived during that time, he could have written the book after it happened. Let's go on...
Medo-Persia, the chest and arms of silver in the image, was the kingdom that overthrew Babylon and at that time, Medo-Persia wasn't even a power to make Nebuchadnezzar wink! Silver is inferior to gold. Each succeeding kingdom was a metal inferior to the kingdom that it overthrew.
Do you remember these world kingdoms from your history books in school? It's in them! God told the future kingdoms way in advance!

God's best 2 u, Joy J
